Lundi 17 septembre, les Emmy Awards ont récompensé, comme à leur habitude, les séries et ses acteurs outre-Atlantique. Présentée au Microsoft Theater de Los Angeles par Michael Che et Colin Jost, cette 70e édition a ainsi sacré à plusieurs reprises les séries Game of Thrones ainsi que celles produites par Ryan Murphy (American Horror Stories, American Crime Story). L’un des moments phares de la soirée a été le discours de Betty White, très émouvant :
